PARTNERSHIP WITH HOSANA CHURCH
(IPTL SYNODE, TIMOR LESTE)

Ringwood Uniting Church is privileged to live in partnership with Hosana Church, in Dili, Timor Leste.

In May of 2011 the Ringwood Uniting Church and the Hosana Church (Dili) entered into a formal partnership agreement. This has been an enriching experience for the people at Ringwood.

Each year a team from Ringwood visits with our friends at Hosana, and a team from Hosana visits with us at Ringwood. Ringwood is privileged to be partners with the vision of the Hosana Church to establish the Hosana Training Centre, as it trains young people in Timor Leste to speak English, to become competent with computers, and to play music (keyboard and guitar).

On the most recent visit of a team from Ringwood to Hosana a group of musicians spent time sharing their musical giftedness but also brought home to Ringwood a collection of Timorese songs that the Ringwood church are learning.

The story of the resilience of the Timor Leste people is a profoundly inspiring story for those of us in the western world for whom faith is increasingly a take-it-or-leave-it commodity.

Many wonderful friendships have emerged from our interactions.
